WhatsApp test function that shows how long file upload and download takes
WhatsApp has rolled out a feature in beta versions of its app that shows how long it takes for a file to be completely downloaded or sent. It is unknown when the feature will be available to all WhatsApp users.
The desktop version already had the feature last month, but now it’s also coming to WhatsApp test versions on Android and iOS, writes WABetaInfo Saturday. To view the timestamp, beta testers must have the following versions or higher: Android 2.22.8.11, iOS 22.8.0.74 and WhatsApp Desktop 2.2209.3. However, the function may not be available for every tester yet.
The website shows see in a screenshot that when uploading a file, the app provides an estimate of the upload time, under the name of the file. WABetaInfo points out that the feature is now especially useful for Argentina’s beta testers, who are trying out 2GB file sharing.
