WhatsApp has released its updated macOS app. The newer version should work faster and offer additional features, such as the ability to participate in group video calls.

The macOS client lets users Drag files to a chat to share them and let users see more chat history. The app also lets Mac users participate in group video and audio calls for the first time. Up to eight people can participate in video calls; for audio calls the limit is 32 people.

The app is available according to WhatsApp through its own website and coming to the App Store ‘soon’. The client has been available as a beta download since January. In March, WhatsApp released a Windows version of the updated desktop app.
