WhatsApp makes voip functionality also available for iOS
Following Android, the WhatsApp version for iOS also has the free calling function. While the VoIP functionality was added to Tuesday’s update, it may take some time for users to take advantage of it.
WhatsApp writes in the description of the new update that it will slowly roll out the feature in the coming weeks. Thanks to the calling function, it is possible to call anyone who has a WhatsApp version with VoIP functionality. It wouldn’t matter which country someone is in.
With the update, the VoIP functionality will be available a few weeks after it appeared for the Android version. For the time being, WhatsApp does not yet support other mobile operating systems such as Windows Phone, but it is likely that those will also follow in due course.
In addition to the calling function, WhatsApp has also equipped the iOS version with the ability to share photos, videos and links directly from other apps in WhatsApp. Furthermore, there is a new camera button in chats, contacts can be edited directly from WhatsApp and multiple videos can be sent at the same time.
