WhatsApp makes new camera interface available in Android beta version

WhatsApp has made a new camera interface available in the beta version 2.22.8.11 for Android. The revamped interface has been available for several months in the WhatsApp beta version for iOS. It is not yet known when this will be rolled out to all users.

The update that includes the new interface is not yet available for all Android beta testers, reports WABetaInfo Saturday. Users who have already installed the update will notice that the selection menu on the camera has a new look. In addition, WhatsApp has left the camera’s media bar. The bar has been removed in the iOS beta. Several iOS testers have criticized this.

In addition to a revamped camera interface, WhatsApp is testing file sharing up to 2GB. This is currently being tested among a small group of Argentinian users who can send larger files of more than 100MB. It is not known whether and when the test will be extended to more countries.
