WhatsApp is working on the option to share screen while calling

WhatsApp is working on a feature that will allow users to share their screen, according to a WhatsApp beta for Android devices. Users can activate the feature when they are on a call.

The feature is in beta version 2.23.11.19 of the Android app, but is not yet available to all users of that version, reports WABetaInfo. While calling, users will see a new icon, between the button for turning the camera on/off and the button for switching the camera perspective.

When users press that button, they will first see a warning. It explains that the entire phone screen is shared, and that users should therefore be careful when showing sensitive information. It is possible to stop screen sharing at any time.

WABetaInfo writes that the feature may not work on older Android versions, or during large group calls. It has not been announced when the option will be available to all users.

Finally, the site notes that in the same beta version, the navigation bar tabs, which since a beta in April moved to the bottom of the screen have been swapped. The order is now ‘Chats’, ‘Calls’, ‘Communities’ and ‘Status’.
