WhatsApp introduces a function to write to unsaved numbers

WhatsApp makes it possible to send messages to phone numbers that are not saved in the contact list. Until now, users always had to do this first before the number could be reached via the popular chat app.

After the update, users can press the ‘new chat’ heading that can be found in the conversations overview of the app. There you can not only search for contacts based on name, but also by telephone numbers. Previously, only the first was possible.

WABetaInfo reports that the function will be introduced immediately on installations of WhatsApp, without being limited to a beta version of the app. The new function did not yet work on this editor’s device. That in itself is not surprising: with updates to large platforms like this, this often happens in stages; It is expected that in the foreseeable future every WhatsApp user will have this function.
