WhatsApp beta in iOS lets users hide ‘now online’ status
Some testers of WhatsApp beta 22.20.0.70 in iOS have been able to hide their “online now” status since Friday, WABetaInfo has noted. The feature is already available to all users of the Android version of WhatsApp.
In a screenshot let WABetaInfo see that hiding the ‘now online’ status can be found in the privacy settings. A tweaker who participates in the Testflight beta program and wishes to remain anonymous has shared a similar screenshot with the editors. The user can choose whether to hide his ‘last seen’ status from everyone, nobody, all users in his contact list or only certain contacts. Setting to hide the ‘online now’ status has two options: hide from everyone or select the same choice as ‘last seen’. It is not yet known when the feature will be rolled out to all iOS users of WhatsApp.
WhatsApp announced several new privacy features last month. One is a feature that allows users to leave group conversations without notifying all users about it. The administrators will still receive a message that a user has left the group. It is not yet known when this feature will be rolled out
