WhatsApp adds picture-in-picture to WhatsApp Web

WhatsApp is working on the ability to show sent videos in a separate screen via the web client. It also adds the ability to privately reply to a message in a group conversation.

The new features were shared by WABetaInfo, which owns an early version of WhatsApp Web. The picture-in-picture function makes it possible to display a controlled video in a small window, while continuing to use the app without closing the video.

To personally reply to a message on a group conversation, the user can click on the arrow next to the message and then select the ‘Reply privately’ option. As usual, the response will be placed under a quote of the message being responded to, although this quote and response will now be opened in a personal conversation.

The new features are already included in the most recent version of WhatsApp Web, but are still hidden. It is not yet clear when WhatsApp will make the features available to everyone.
