WhatsApp adds calling function to Windows Phone app
WhatsApp has added a calling feature to its Windows Phone app. The calling function has been available on iOS and Android for some time and now Windows Phone users can also make calls via the chat application.
It’s no surprise that the feature is now also in the Windows Phone app. Last month, the feature already appeared in the test version of WhatsApp for Windows Phone and now WhatsApp has released an update that makes the function available to all users.
After the update, there will be separate tabs with chats and calls, just like WhatsApp for iOS and Android. From a chat, users can also call another WhatsApp user by pressing the call icon.
The voip feature is now available on all major mobile platforms. Android users first got the feature earlier this year, along with BlackBerry 10 users. WhatsApp then updated the iOS app in the spring.
