Wehkamp removes products from comparison site Beslist.nl
The large webshop Wehkamp has obtained thousands of its products from Beslist.nl. In this way, the webshop is dissatisfied with the new policy of the comparison site, which wants data from all webshops of all transactions.
Wehkamp is not prepared to hand over that data to the comparison site, Emerce writes. In order to forward this data, Beslist webshops must insert a tracker on the thank you page after an order. With this tracker, which the comparison site calls a conversion pixel, Beslist receives the data, including the amount of the transaction, which products the customer takes and how many.
The webshop also has other objections: with the tracker, Beslist wants to pay per transaction and no longer per click. This is problematic for Wehkamp, because that system does not take into account orders that customers send back. This often happens especially with clothing, of which Wehkamp claims to sell a lot.
With this step, the webshop probably wants to put pressure on Beslist to let go of the idea of the tracker and new way of payment. The comparison site has already announced that it will stick to the plan, while it also wants to keep all webshops as customers. Smaller webshops already have the tracker on pages, although not all small webshops have agreed. Decidedly claims that because of this data it knows which products from which online stores are doing relatively best, so that it can better advise stores on how to generate more sales. Besides Wehkamp, Coolblue and Fonq also objected to the new system.
