Website posts hands-on of Microsoft Surface Pro with Core i5-8250U
The Vietnamese website Tinhte has posted a hands-on of a Microsoft Surface Pro with a Core i5-8250U quad-core. Microsoft officially does not yet have a model with that CPU in its range. It may be a new version.
Tinhte has detailed photos of the so-called Surface Pro 6. It is not known how the website got hold of the tablet with kickstand. Microsoft may announce the device on October 2 at its own event.
According to the Vietnamese website, the Surface Pro 6 has not changed much from its predecessor, the Surface Pro 2017. The new version still has a 12.3″ screen with a resolution of 2736×1824 pixels.
The Surface Pro does get new hardware. The model that Tinhte has in his hands contains the Intel Core i5-8250U, a quad-core processor. In the 2017 model, Microsoft only used dual-core CPUs. Microsoft continues to stick to its Surface Connector, a USB-c port for charging is missing.
The version that the Vietnamese website has in its possession is equipped with 8GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD. There will probably be more configurations, but it is not yet known which ones.
Update 11:22: As noted in the comments, the Surface Pro has the same model number as the current version. It may not be the Surface Pro 6, but a new variant of the current Surface Pro, with new hardware. The title and intro text have been adjusted accordingly.
