Webshop Gearbest is offline after financial problems parent company
Webshop Gearbest has been offline for some time, presumably due to financial problems of the parent company. As a result, the webshop can no longer pay its suppliers and the delivery of products to consumers has stopped.
There is nothing more on the Gearbest site; users only get an ‘invalid url’ message. The last Facebook message from the webshop is from 7 July. Other social media accounts have not been updated for some time. As the company has not provided any information, it is unknown whether Gearbest could return. The site has been offline for about two weeks.
In June, parent company Global Top E-Commerce looked into filing for bankruptcy after it had run into financial difficulties. It is unclear whether it has gone bankrupt. The company was trying to raise money. Gearbest is a well-known online store from China and competed with AliExpress, among others.
