Web stores can offer ABN Amro’s app Tikkie as a payment option
Online stores can offer Tikkie as a payment option. The ABN Amro app then fills in the address details for users, which should make ordering faster. Users can also transfer money without a payment request.
Transferring the money without a payment request is called Tikkie Pay, says ABN Amro. Users can choose an amount and choose a contact from the contact list, after which they can immediately transfer the money. Now it can only be transferred after a payment request. The condition is that the recipient also has Tikkie, because this means the bank knows which iban number belongs to a certain telephone number.
The function for webshops is called SuperSnelBetalen. If users want to order on their phone, Tikkie can automatically fill in address details, so that the web store does not have to show that form and the ordering process should therefore be faster. Payment is therefore done via the Tikkie app. The payment process is done on a Tikkie server, checkout.tikkie.me/checkout. Online department store Ivol supports the feature.
The first time, the user comes to a web page where they have to enter their phone number. After that, there will be an SMS with a Tikkie link, after which Tikkie asks for a name and address via a web page. Only then is it possible to make the first payment.
There will also be a business variant of Tikkie, with the option of requesting higher amounts and adding a logo. At the end of November, a portal will follow in which business users can send Tikkies in batch.
The changes in Tikkie will become visible to users in the coming weeks. The bank claims that three million people have used the app at least once in recent years. The app is not specific to ABN Amro customers.
