Web content filter made available to all Microsoft Enterprise users
The team behind Windows Defender for Endpoint released a new web content filter Friday for all Windows Enterprise customers. The web filter allows content to be filtered and monitored.
Thomas Doucette of Microsoft writes in a blog post that the web filter has been worked on for six months. Starting Friday, all Windows Enterprise customers will have access to the dashboard. From the overview, system administrators can keep track of where employees in an organization surf to and what they click on.
There are separate categories for, for example, phishing links or other malicious websites. Certain web addresses can also be blocked, so that these sites can no longer be visited. In the overview you can see how often a web visit has been blocked and you can check whether the filter is fishing out the right links.
In September, Microsoft announced a new version of Defender for Endpoint. The Enterprise software was only available to larger organizations, but the tech giant also wants to release a more affordable variant for smaller companies.
