Wear OS smartwatches periodically warn users to wash their hands

Smartwatches with Google’s Wear OS as their operating system have received an update that sends users a notification every few hours with a call to wash their hands with soap.

According to Android Police, this warning to the user to wash his hands is the result of an update to the Clock app of Wear OS, namely version 5.4.0. A notification follows every three hours with a shortcut to start a three-second timer. At the end of the three seconds, a call is displayed to prompt the user to wash his hands with soap.

After that, an interruptible 40-second timer will run, indicating how long users should actually wash their hands. As soon as that timer is over, the smartwatch will vibrate, after which another notification will appear after three hours. Users who are not interested in this can disable the notifications.
