Watch manufacturer TAG Heuer makes limited edition Super Mario smartwatch
Watch manufacturer TAG Heuer has teamed up with Nintendo to create a limited edition Super Mario smartwatch. The watch runs on Wear OS with various Super Mario watch faces and animations. Only 2,000 copies will be made and the watch will be released on July 15.
Super fanatic Super Mario fans can get their luck from Thursday, because then TAG Heuer will release a smartwatch from their favorite plumber. The watch should cost $2150, the price in euros is not yet known, and only 2000 copies of the watch will be made. But then as a super fan you do have a Wear OS watch with pictures of Mario in different poses.
The watch is fully focused on developing a more active lifestyle. Mario should encourage watch wearers to move more, including by showing more animations when they move more. There will also be a gamification element in the watch. Mario greets carriers every morning and gives carriers an exercise goal for the day. In short: a Super Mario pedometer.
The watch has a 45mm clock and weighs 86 grams with the rubber watch strap. A leather watch strap is also available. In addition, the smartwatch is largely waterproof and has a battery of 430mAh, which according to TAG Heuer is enough for a full day of use. The watch runs on Wear OS and can therefore use all the usual Google apps for smartwatches. The Mario watch is a special edition of the TAG Heuer Connected, the brand’s new smartwatch range.
