Watch Dogs: Legion releases October 29
Watch Dogs: Legion will be released on October 29, Ubisoft announced during its virtual Ubisoft Forward event. The publisher published new images of the game at the same time as announcing the release date.
In an extended video, Ubisoft shows more details about the gameplay of Watch Dogs: Legion. In it, the publisher shows off some missions and describes how players can recruit virtually all of the NPCs in the game that populate London into their resistance group, from skinheads to grannies. A new cinematic trailer was also released.
The resistance takes action against Nigel Cass’ private security firm Albion on the one hand and Mary Kelley’s crime empire on the other. Both try to take hold of the London of the future after a terrorist attack sends the city into chaos.
Versions for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be released on October 29. Versions of the game for those consoles will also be released once the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are released. Originally, Watch Dogs: Legion was supposed to be released in March, but the developers needed more time to finalize the game.
During the announcement, Ubisoft gave away free versions of Watch Dogs 2. The company’s servers were then overrun by users who logged in to claim their copy. Ubisoft made it familiar that anyone with a Ubisoft account is eligible for the rewards, including those who failed to log in. The company will provide more details on this.
