Wastelanders NPC Expansion for Fallout 76 Coming April 7
Bethesda will release the free Wastelanders expansion for Fallout 76 on April 7. The update was initially supposed to come out in the fall last year, but was delayed. Fallout 76 including the expansion will also be released on Steam.
Bethesda announced Wastlanders at E3 last June. The main innovation is the addition of NPCs, characters in the game with quests and dialogues. The presence of such NPCs is something that characterizes Fallout games and the lack of them in Fallout 76 could count on criticism.
The Wastelanders expansion adds two factions to the game world: the Settlers and the Raiders. Players can befriend or betray the NPCs. A reputation system also comes into play; which is influenced by the dialogues with NPCs. The update also includes new beasts and new gear such as weapons and armor.
Wastelanders features both a new main quest and an overhaul of the original main storyline. On April 7, the Wastelanders expansion will be available for Fallout 76 via the Bethesda launcher, for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and on Steam. The game was previously not for sale on Valve’s platform. The expansion is free to all Fallout 76 owners.
