Warner Bros. knew about Batman: Arkham Knight’s problems for months
Publisher Warner Bros. knew about the problems with Batman: Arkham Knight for months, but decided to release the game after all in the hopes that users would find it “good enough”. Warner Bros. pulled the PC version from the shelves shortly after release because of the issues.
One of the problems would have been that Warner Bros. has focused most on developing for 720p resolution during development, while many gamers on PCs play at higher resolutions. This is evident from the reactions of two anonymous sources who were close to the development of the game. Game site Kotaku published their information.
One of the sources says he has reported “literally thousands of bugs” related to the PC version’s frame rate. Especially images in which the Batmobile appears, show frame drops in the game. The development of the console versions was also problematic, but there were far fewer problems at release than with the PC version. In addition, Warner Bros. not hire specialized testing companies for the PC version, for fear that parts of the game’s story would leak out.
Arkham Knight came out last week, but two days later, Warner Bros. the game from digital shelves because of the issues. It is not yet known when the game will be released again, but it is believed that Warner Bros. solve all problems first.
