The American WarnerMedia, part of provider AT&T and the former Time Warner, has announced its streaming service HBO Max. Among other things, the company wants to sell subscriptions by putting a Game of Thrones prequel series on the service.

HBO Max will be released in the United States in six months for $15 a month, making it significantly more expensive than many options for competing streaming services like Netflix and Disney+. The service should also appear in Europe in 2021, AT&T reports.

AT&T hopes to sell subscriptions partly thanks to its own series that WarnerMedia makes for the service. The most important of these will be House of the Dragon, a Game of Thrones prequel based on George RR Martin’s Fire & Blood book series. Set three hundred years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series focuses on House Targaryen.

HBO Max also features episodes in existing series such as South Park, Rick & Morty and cartoons from Looney Tunes and Hannah Barbara. Movies from Lord of the Rings and The Matrix will also be on the streaming service.
