Focus Entertainment announces a new Warhammer 40,000 shooter. Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun is a DOOM-esque retro game due out next year. Owlcat Games, the studio behind Pathfinder, is also working on the ‘classic RPG’ Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader.

In Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun players take on the role of a ‘space marine’ on a ‘dangerous mission across the galaxy’. Players take on enemies such as Chaos Space Marines and daemons of Chaos with a bolt gun. The game takes inspiration from classic shooters from the 1990s such as DOOM, Quake and Duke Nukem. Boltgun gets retro-like graphics based on sprites.

Boltgun doesn’t have a concrete release date yet, but will be released sometime in 2023 for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo Switch and PC. The game is being developed by Auroch Digital and published by Focus Entertainment.

Classic turn-based RPG Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader will be available in early access later

er Work is also underway on Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader† It will be a ‘classic’ role-playing game with an isometric camera perspective and turn-based combat. Players play as a Rogue Trader, a “descendant of an ancient dynasty of daring privateers, who rule their own trading empire and explore the fringes of Imperial space.”

Rogue Trader is in development at Owlcat Games, the studio behind the Pathfinder series. The game is coming to PCs and consoles, but has no concrete release date yet. The developer is already starting to sell the game and people who pre-order the game will get access to early versions of the game. In fact, it is a kind of early access game. It is not yet known when those early versions will appear.

The new games were announced during the Warhammer Skulls Showcase† There was also a new video about the previously announced Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 shown, alongside a new card game for PCs and smartphones and a current-gen upgrade for Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr.
