Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Co-Op Release Delayed Until September 13
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide will be released on September 13 this year. The game has been delayed twice so far. The corona pandemic was the cause of the first postponement, developer Fatshark reported, but a reason for this postponement is not given.
September 13 is a more concrete release date than what was previously suggested: first 2021 and then the spring of 2022. The announcement of the date is accompanied by a new, short trailer. In it, the four player characters are relaxing in a bar. Another member of the Imperial Army asks if the four “shouldn’t be somewhere else,” to which he gets virtually no response.
Gameplay does not include the new trailer. At the end of 2020, however, things were images of the game in action. It shows that the game is very similar to its fantasy counterpart Warhammer: Vermintide 2. Players must work in groups through levels teeming with enemies. Many of them are weak, but others can deal much more damage or have special powers. Similar games include Left 4 Dead 2, Payday 2, Back 4 Blood, and GTFO.
The game takes place in the science fiction universe of Warhammer 40,000. That’s a distant future where humanity is led by an undead, 48,000-year-old God-emperor who only uses his gigantic empire for war. And those wars abound: the Imperial armies are constantly fighting aliens, heretics and mutants throughout the universe. The well-known 40K book author Dan Abnett is also associated with the game as a writer. The game has been announced for Xbox Series X and S and Windows.
