Warframe gets mobile version and cross-play
Developer Digital Extremes is working on a mobile version of the free-to-play shooter Warframe. The game will also get cross-play and cross-save functionality. This also applies to the existing versions for consoles and PC.
It has not yet been announced when the mobile version of Warframe will be released. In any case, it is about the same game as on consoles and PC, because there is cross-play functionality. The mobile version was announced at the annual Warframe conference TennoCon. Digital Extremes also announced that the game will get cross-play and cross-save.
This gives players the opportunity to play the game on different platforms and transfer their progression. For example, if the mobile version is available, players will be able to play Warframe on a PC, console and smartphone, using the same account.
During TennoCon 2021 , Digital Extremes also showcased The New War, a major new expansion for Warframe, set to release on all platforms simultaneously later this year. A release date has not yet been announced. There is a 30 minute gameplay video on YouTube .
Warframe has been around since 2013 and is already available for Windows, PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and the Nintendo Switch. Earlier this year, the game received upgrades for the new consoles from Microsoft and Sony.
