VR headset HP Reverb G2 will be released in mid-September for 699 euros
HP’s virtual reality headset Reverb G2, which was developed in collaboration with Microsoft and Valve, will be available in many European countries from September. The headset has LCDs with a resolution of 2160×2160 pixels and the same speakers as the Valve Index.
The HP Reverb G2 is a hundred euros more expensive than its predecessor. That VR headset is in the Pricewatch for 599 euros. The new model has the same LCDs. The angle of view of 114 degrees is also the same, but the G2 version has several innovations, including a slider to adjust the distance between the lenses according to the interpupillary distance, the distance between the center of the pupils.
The vr headset works with the Windows Mixed Reality platform and with SteamVR. Four cameras are incorporated into the headset for inside-out tracking of the included bluetooth controllers. The Reverb G2 contains the same speakers as in the Valve Index; which are positioned 10 mm away from the wearer’s ears and must provide spatial sound.
HP announced details about its Reverb G2 headset in late May. The company now announces through a press release that the glasses will be released in September for 699 euros. Deliveries were to take place in mid-September.
