VR game The Walking Dead Onslaught will be released September 29

The Walking Dead Onslaught will be released September 29 for PlayStation VR, SteamVR and Oculus. It is a survival shooter based on the television series The Walking Dead.

Simultaneously with the announcement of the September 29 release date, developer Survios is reporting that players can now place pre-orders and a new trailer for the game has also been released. This video shows how players enter a post-apocalyptic world and have to fend off hordes of zombies, where the necessary gore is involved.

Also featured are some of the prominent protagonists of AMC’s The Walking Dead series, such as Daryl, Rick and Michonne. The story of the game takes place after the war with the Saviors and players must rebuild the settlement of Alexandria.

Initially, the game was supposed to be released last year and there would be a co-op mode, but developer Survios was forced to postpone the game and scrap the co-op, making it a single-player game. Earlier this year, the VR game The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners was released, but it is based on the comics.
