VR game Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond requires 170GB of storage space
An Oculus Studios employee shared the system requirements for the upcoming Medal of Honor VR game. It shows that the game requires 170GB of storage space. Furthermore, the developer recommends that users install the game on an SSD.
Oculus Studios producer Mike Doran reports on Reddit that recommended system requirements include an Intel Core i7-9700K CPU or equivalent and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 GPU. In addition, the developer reports that the game is more CPU-dependent, and that an RTX 2080 or equivalent video card is therefore not necessary. Furthermore, the developer recommends 16GB of memory.
Minimum system requirements are not listed. Dorian calls the specifications mentioned ‘high’. He also states that this does not mean that the game will not run on less powerful systems, although such PCs may have more glitches and frame dips.
Developer Respawn Entertainment further discusses the file size of the game in a reviewer’s guide, Polygon also writes. At installation, 340GB of free storage space is required to extract all game files. After installation, the total game would be 170GB. Doran reports that an SSD is recommended. “Whatever you do, make sure you use an SSD to play this game.”
Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond is developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by EA. The game will be released on December 11 on the Oculus store and Steam with full SteamVR support. Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond will not work standalone on the Quest and Quest 2 headsets; gamers with such VR glasses can only play the game with an Oculus Link cable and a separate PC.
