Volkswagen hints that smaller version of electric ID.3 . is coming
Volkswagen appears to be producing a smaller version of its ID.3 electric car. The still unannounced model appeared on a Christmas card that the German automaker has circulated to various media.
Cnet, among others, put the Christmas card from Volkswagen online. The map shows the contours of a new car, which is probably a smaller version of the ID.3. Furthermore, the German automaker has not yet disclosed any details. However, it wouldn’t be the first time a new car has been announced via a Christmas card.
Earlier it was announced that a compact hatchback should be released during the second half of next year. It will probably cost considerably less than the ID.3, but exact data is still lacking. It is likely that Volkswagen refers to this model in the Christmas card, and thus gives a first impression.
Volkswagen unveiled its long-awaited ID.3 in September, with the longest-range version able to travel about 550 kilometers on a charge. Incidentally, it was recently announced that the automaker is likely to have problems with software development for its electric car. As a result, tens of thousands of models are produced with unfinished software, requiring a manual update at a later stage.
