Vodafone will soon stop offering services via Cloud. Customers have been informed about how to keep their files safe. There must be a successor for Cloud, but Vodafone will only announce something about this later.

Vodafone Cloud will stop its services as of November 1. Until then, customers have the option to download their files; Vodafone has explained how this should be done on a web page. Until September 8 it is still possible to use Cloud in the normal way, after that it is only possible to download already uploaded files. Vodafone states that it has stopped taking on new customers from 15 July.

In time, an alternative to Cloud should be offered, Vodafone has announced. It is not known exactly what this service will look like and what the difference is with the current cloud storage service. The telecom provider did not want to give any further details.

Vodafone’s cloud storage service was launched three years ago. As with many competing services, there is the option of free storage, for which extra capacity has to be paid for. Cloud is being closed because the company wants to offer more options, something that is not possible with the current ‘platform’, Vodafone said. It is not known how many customers used Vodafone Cloud.
