Vodafone lets customers change their subscription after complaints
Vodafone allows customers to change their subscription, whereby they can choose to continue using the internet at a low speed after reaching their data limit. The provider does this after two broadcasts of consumer program Radar about high bills for Vodafone customers.
Customers with an older subscription have the option to continue using the internet at low speed at no extra cost, according to a page that Vodafone opened after the broadcast of consumer program Radar Monday evening. The end date of the subscription will not change and the subscription amount will remain ‘approximately the same’ according to the provider. According to Vodafone, this is a temporary option. It is unknown when the opportunity will expire.
About two thousand customers had complained to Radar about high bills from the provider. This is partly due to a system error at Vodafone, as a result of which text messages with warnings about data usage arrive too late or not.
It is unknown how many people have a subscription that is not from the Red or Smart line. Some people with an old subscription with unlimited internet were given a new subscription with a data limit in April, because a new computer system would not support the old subscriptions.
