Vivo teaser for smartphone with ‘waterfall screen’
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo has posted a teaser for an upcoming model. The teaser shows a photo of the glass on the front, which indicates that the smartphone has a ‘waterfall screen’ that continues on the sides.
The screen will be curved at an angle of almost ninety degrees, according to the teaser that a Vivo product manager has put online on Weibo. It is unknown what Vivo wants to do in the software with the screen on the sides. The current, much less curved screens of, for example, Samsung smartphones have hardly any extra functions on the curvature.
It is probably the next Vivo Nex smartphone. Vivo’s sister company Oppo already showed such a screen at the end of July, but did not say when it would appear in a smartphone. Even then there was a rumor that the Vivo Nex 3 and Huawei Mate 30 Pro will get such a screen. Vivo has also previously said that the next Nex smartphone will have a 3.5mm jack.
