Vivo shows Nex 3 smartphone with ‘waterfall screen’ in video
Smartphone maker Vivo has posted a video with images of its Nex 3 smartphone, its first phone with a ‘waterfall display’. That display has a border that is at an angle of 88 degrees around the side.
Vivo, a smartphone maker with the same investor as OnePlus and Oppo, has put the video online itself. It is still unknown when the manufacturer will provide more details about the smartphone, such as specs, price and release date. Vivo already posted a teaser a few weeks ago.
The Nex 3 will be Vivo’s first smartphone with a waterfall screen, where the screen sits at an angle of 88 degrees around the sides and thus covers a large part of the side. Such screens are not yet on smartphones, but Huawei would also like to use them on its Mate 30 phones. There have been smartphones with curved screens for several years now, but they do not curl around the sides.
The back of the smartphone has a round design element for the cameras, as Lenovo has been doing on its Motorola phones for several years now. The first Nex phone came out last year, while the second had a limited release and came out late last year.
