Vivo has unveiled three X70 smartphones. The top model, the X70 Pro+, will receive a V1 imaging chip developed by Vivo itself. It is the first time that the smartphone manufacturer has released a phone with that V1 chip, which must, among other things, be more energy-efficient than other chips.

The V1 chip can reduce noise in low-light video recordings, according to Engadget, and is said to be more efficient at displaying motion when watching videos and gaming. GSMArena notes that due to the improved efficiency, the smartphone uses less energy when performing some photography and video tasks.

The X70 Pro+ has a similar camera setup as the X60 Pro+. The smartphone has a 50-megapixel sensor, the Samsung Isocell GN1, as the main camera. There is also an ultra-wide-angle 48-megapixel sensor with gimbal stabilization; this one has the Sony IMX598 sensor. In addition, there is a 12-megapixel portrait camera with the Sony IMX663 sensor and an 8-megapixel zoom camera that can zoom in up to five times.

Internally, the X70 Pro+ gets a Snapdragon 888+ soc with up to 12GB quadchannel Lpddr5 memory and up to 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. The AMOLED screen is 6.78 “in size and has a resolution of 3200×1440 pixels. It is an LTPO panel that can adjust the refresh rate from 1 to 120Hz. The 4500mAh battery can be charged with 55W, or 50W with a wireless charger.

The X70 Pro+ is IP68 certified, comes with Android 11 and will be available in orange, black and blue. The smartphone costs in China converted 722 euros for 8GB memory and 256GB storage. The version with 12GB of memory and 256GB of storage costs 788 euros. The 12GB/512GB top model costs 920 euros converted. Vivo does sell smartphones in Europe, but not yet in the Benelux. European pricing and availability have not yet been announced.
