Vivaldi Browser Beta for Android Comes Out
The Vivaldi browser is coming to Android. Vivaldi Technologies released a public beta on Monday. The browser is based on Chromium and should distinguish itself with privacy functions and extensive features.
The Vivaldi browser for Android is, according to the makers, ‘full of features’, just like a desktop browser. It is not a stripped-down mobile version. The browser has features such as Panels, Speed Dials, Notes and Capture. These are functions that are also in the desktop version of the Vivaldi browser.
Vivaldi says it does not track users and the Sync feature uses end-to-end encryption. The browser maker does not use the Google Sync server for synchronization, but its own implementation with servers located in Iceland.
The Vivaldi app runs on Android 5 or newer and the interface is optimized for smartphones; an interface for tablets is still being worked on. Both a dark and a light mode are available. Vivaldi has been available for desktops for some time now. The browser has been owned since 2015 by a small company founded by Opera co-founder Jon von Tetzchner.
