Visionox takes OLED screen with front camera behind screen into mass production

The Chinese display maker Visionox has mass-produced an OLED screen with a front camera behind the display. That has been announced by the manufacturer. As far as is known, it is the first manufacturer to do so.

The announcement took place last week and MyFixGuide, among others, published about it. However, the announcement is only now noticeable, partly because Image Sensors World is paying attention to it. Visionox claims that it has found a solution to let the camera see through the screen by making the various screen layers as transparent as possible. Other characteristics of the InV See screen are unknown and also when the screen appears in smartphones is unknown.

In addition, the display maker wants to work with smartphone manufacturers on software to process the anomalies in the software, so that footage from the front camera looks as normal as possible; there are, however, possible deviations.

Visionox is the first to claim to have mass-produced such a screen. In recent years, attention has been paid to the technology and Oppo, among others, has shown it as a prototype. With the smaller bezels, the front camera first disappeared in a notch, some manufacturers have put it in their own pop-up module and now it is in a hole in the screen of many smartphones.
