Videos presumably show images of Samsung’s Galaxy S8
Two videos have appeared online, which may show images of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S8 device. For example, the images show a screen with thin bezels and a missing Home button. These traits were mentioned in previous rumours.
The videos were both published on Slashleaks and are partly from a Weibo user. One of the videos shows two devices in a case next to each other, most likely the S8 and the larger S8 Plus from Samsung. The second video shows a single device. In all cases, these are working phones that run Android.
The properties of the devices correspond to the information that had come out through earlier rumors about the S8. For example, the curved screen with thin bezels corresponds to screen protectors shown earlier. There were also photos of the devices available via EVLeaks, which show a strong resemblance.
For example, the Home button is missing, which was always present in previous Galaxy devices. That this button is missing, had come out in December via Bloomberg. Due to the missing button, the fingerprint scanner would have been moved to the back of the device. The videos also show a 3.5mm jack.
Samsung has not announced the new phone at the current Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The announcement will take place on March 29.
