Video shows Google Pixel 7a with 8GB RAM
A video has emerged that would show off the Google Pixel 7a. The phone in the video is remotely locked and only shows the bootloader. It shows that the device has 8GB of RAM on board.
The UFS storage has a capacity of 128GB, just like the Pixel 6a, according to the video on Bilibili from a Vietnamese blogger. The working memory has a capacity of 8GB and is of the Lpddr5 type. The Pixel 6a has 6GB Lpddr5 memory. It is common for the bootloader of Android phones to show memory and storage capacity and manufacturer data. The memory is from Samsung and the storage from Micron.
The blogger claims that Google has remotely locked the phone. He would have received the images from a tipster. The phone in the video matches the renders published by OnLeaks at the end of November. The phone was earlier can be seen in action.
The device would be 152.4 x 72.9 x 9.0 mm, which, apart from the width, is only a few tenths of a millimeter larger than the current Pixel 6a. However, the device would be almost a millimeter wider. The placement of the volume and power button, speaker holes, USB-C port and selfie camera is also exactly the same as the Pixel 6a, assuming the renders are accurate.
Google typically releases its Pixel a phones in the spring or summer, separate from the regular Pixel phones. These are cheaper versions of its high-end models. Google hasn’t said anything about a possible Pixel 7a yet, but it was on the leaked Pixel hardware roadmap.
