Video shows Google Pixel 4a with Snapdragon 730 and 6GB ram

Google’s Pixel 4a smartphone has appeared in a hands-on video. The device has a 5.8 “screen, contains a Snapdragon 730-soc and 6GB ram. On the back is a single camera with a 12-megapixel resolution.

The Pixel 4a can be seen in a video from the Cuban YouTube channel TecnoLike Plus. It is probably a prototype of the smartphone. Google has not yet announced the smartphone, but photos have recently appeared online and renders were made at the end of last year.

The device in the video matches the renders and the previously leaked photos. Now that the hands-on has appeared, many specifications have been confirmed. The device will have a single camera on the back with a 12-megapixel sensor. It is not known which sensor Google uses in the Pixel 4a.

The Pixel 4a will be Google’s first smartphone with a hole in the screen for the front camera. That screen is a 5.81″ OLED panel with a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels and presumably a refresh rate of 60Hz.

The phone runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730-soc, which was announced in April last year and will be made at 8nm. It is an octacore with two fast cores and six economical cores. Google combines the soc with 6GB ram, 64GB flash storage and a 3080 mAh battery. The housing is made of plastic and has a 3.5mm jack.

It is not yet known when Google will announce the phone. The video mentions April 5 as a possible date, but that has not been confirmed. It was previously assumed that Google would introduce the device at its I/O conference in May. That event has been canceled due to the novel coronavirus.
