Video calling application Duo will get a web version in the coming weeks
Google seems to be planning to provide the video calling software Duo with a web version soon. That should make the application more accessible, through compatibility with more different devices.
The plans have not yet been made public, but a source has told the generally well-established 9To5 Google that the web version should be available in the coming weeks. Chrome will be supported, but “probably” other major browsers such as Firefox and Safari will also work.
Furthermore, there is still a lot of information missing about the suspected web version of Duo, so it is still unclear whether all functionality that is in the mobile version of the calling and chat application will also come to the web version. With Duo it is possible, among other things, to make video calls, leave video messages and there is ‘knock knock’, where the caller’s video can already be seen on the lock screen before recording.
Meanwhile, Google also seems to be working on new functionality for Duo. There should be an option for group calling, and better support for video in low-light conditions. It should also be possible to ‘pin’ favorite contacts on the screen.
