Venturebeat: EA Motive is indeed working on Dead Space remake
Jeff Grubb of Venturebeat states that EA Motive is indeed working on a remake of Dead Space, which has also been rumored before. At the same time, there is also some activity on the Dead Space YouTube channel.
Grubb says he can “confirm parts” of previous rumor publications made by Eurogamer and Gematsu. Grubb does not state what his sources are in it, but the man often comes up with correct information about unannounced games.
Grubb goes on to say that the remake “uses the original game as a strong foundation” but “probably” also takes new gameplay elements from other parts of the franchise. The graphics are of course ‘modern’.
EA is said to have been convinced to make a Dead Space remake due to the success of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, another single player game from the publisher, and the success of the Resident Evil remakes, from competitor Capcom. Those are not only single player games, but also horror games, just like Dead Space.
VentureBeat has asked EA for a response, but has not received a response. Yet there is a sound from the official corner: the Dead Space YouTube channel has changed its profile picture. That was Dead Space 3’s logo, but has been changed to a close-up of Dead Space 2’s box art noticed observant fans. Based on Archive.org, it can be said that this happened sometime in the past few months.
EA will hold its EA Play presentation on July 22. There may be more about this alleged remake. EA didn’t have its own presentation at E3 this year, so maybe it still has plenty to talk about.
