VanMoof introduces its first speed pedelec
The e-bike company VanMoof has introduced its first speed pedelec. The so-called VanMoof V must be able to reach speeds of 50 km/h. The bike has a suggested retail price of 3498 euros and is expected to be released at the end of 2022.
The new e-bike has two-wheel drive, front and rear suspension, thicker tires and a special frame that, according to VanMoof, makes it possible to cover longer distances faster compared to other bicycles. The exact specifications of the speed pedelec have not yet been announced. For the time being, the bicycle can only be reserved by registering on the VanMoof website. The advance is 20 euros.
In addition, just like VanMoof’s S3 and X3 bicycles, the e-bike contains a turbo boost button, with which the bicycle can accelerate automatically, an option for automatic gear changes and a so-called kicklock. This allows the bike to be locked remotely. The pedelec also contains a double motor, which, according to the bicycle company, provides ‘powerful acceleration’. In addition, the VanMoof V must contain an ‘intelligent motor control’, which improves the electric drive of the bicycle, according to the bicycle repair shop.
