The sequel of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines has been delayed until at least 2022. The publisher also says that the original developer Hardsuit Labs is no longer working on the game, and therefore more time is needed for development.

The news is in the year-end report from publisher Paradox Interactive. That writes that due to the corona crisis, many changes are needed among developers, although the company does not say what that means exactly. The biggest impact of those changes is that Hardsuit Labs is no longer the lead developer for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. The game is getting a new developer, but Paradox doesn’t say who that is. “This was a difficult decision, but we are confident it is the best way to move forward and do justice to the game,” the report said.

The change of developer does mean that the release date will be postponed. A new date has not yet been announced, but at least the game will not be released in 2021. That is a disappointment for fans, because Bloodlines 2 has been postponed many times. In August last year, Paradox wanted to postpone the game until the first quarter of 2021, but later that became the third quarter and now that is not being achieved either. The game was announced in early 2019. It is a sequel to the earlier Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines game where players play as a vampire who engages in a war between two clans in Seattle. The game is not only about fighting, but also about making choices that can influence the story.
