Valve will release its VR headset Index in mid-June, according to the product page that came online early. The headset comes with Knuckles controllers and requires a PC with Nvidia GTX 970 or higher, the page says.

The product page that appeared online is clearly not yet finished, as witnessed by texts such as ‘lorem ipsum dolor sit amet’, a well-known text to use as a placeholder. The page on the Steam Store is now offline, but can be viewed via an archive site. The page contains a url to a ‘base station’, and this is also a placeholder.

In any case, the VR headset has USB 3 and displayport 1.2 connections, as can be concluded from the text. Other specs of the headset, such as the type of the screen and its resolution, are not yet known. Valve will present the headset on May 1, the company tells The Verge. Then the preorders start, while the Index goes on sale in mid-June. Valve had just started teasing the Index. Rumors spoke of a field of view of 135 degrees.
