Valve promises improvements after complaints about Team Fortress 2 bot problem
Valve confirms that the bot problem in Team Fortress 2 is getting too big and promises the player community that improvements are coming. Disgruntled players staged a protest last week to express their dismay at the bot problem.
Valve reports that it is on improvements works regarding the bot issue in Team Fortress 2, but what improvements these are and within what time frame players can expect relief is unknown. The game studio is responding to complaints from players about bots in the game with the statement. “TF2 Community, we hear you! We love this game and we know you do too. We see how big the problem has become,” reports Valve.
Bots are massively flooding Team Fortress 2’s servers, causing nuisance with spam messages, crashes, cheating with superhuman gaming abilities, and erroneously removing players from gaming sessions.
Members of the TF 2 community previously tried to bring the issue to Valve’s attention with an email campaign, but the company has yet to respond. Last week players started under the heading #SaveTF2 a ‘peaceful protest’. Valve responded to that protest with its tweet, the first from the @TeamFortress account since October 2020. Team Fortress 2 was released 15 years ago, but still has a large fan base.
