Valve may be producing more Steam Decks in the near future. The company says problems in the supply lines are improving. Buyers who are currently on the reservation list will receive their confirmation email before the end of the year. Other customers will also receive it sooner.

valve writes in a blog post that Steam Decks’ production is “higher than ever before.” According to the company, issues in supply lines that have delayed Steam Deck production are beginning to be resolved. Therefore, the company can “fulfill everyone’s request on the reservation list faster.”

In concrete terms, this means that every potential buyer who is currently on the reservation list will receive a confirmation e-mail this year. Buyers who receive that message will then have 72 hours to pre-order their Steam Deck. Other buyers are also likely to receive their device sooner. Customers who were on the reservation list for the fourth quarter of this year can expect that email as early as the third quarter, so between July and September. New reservations will be taken care of before the end of the year, according to Valve, but the company warns that if there are too many registrations, it can still be postponed to the first quarter of next year.

Valve has struggled to keep up with demand ever since the Steam Deck was introduced. It is not known how many consoles the company has already delivered and by how much production will increase. In June, the company postponed delivery of the docking station for the Steam Deck indefinitely. That was due to material shortages and ‘covid-related closures’.
