Vacancy Battlefield Seattle Studio points to new Battlefield with single player

Battlefield Seattle Studio is looking for a design director for an upcoming Battlefield game. The relatively new Electronic Arts studio is looking for an experienced person for the vacancy who can shape the game’s single-player campaign.

The target employee must ensure that the unannounced Battlefield game innovates in the single-player field, is capable of in the vacancy text. “You will be the design team manager and develop a vision for a new Battlefield campaign. The work involves orchestrating the mission design, story and gameplay mechanics to ensure the highest possible quality.”

It is not clear from the vacancy text what exactly the Battlefield game is about. DICE says it is working exclusively on Battlefield 2042 and has “no time” for other projects within the franchise. It’s only clear that one of the upcoming Battlefield games will have a single player campaign, but it remains unclear whether this is part of a classic Battlefield title with single and multiplayer, or a standalone story game.

The respective developer, Battlefield Seattle Studio, was founded in late 2021 to work on new Battlefield experiences. The studio is headed by Vince Zampella, one of the co-founders of Call of Duty pioneer Infinity Ward. After leaving that studio, he co-founded Apex Legends and Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order creator Respawn Entertainment. In addition, ex-Halo director Marcus Lehto works at the Seattle company.

DICE is only working on Battlefield 2042 for now, while the already established Battlefield Seattle Studio is working on a new project.
