Users report problems with alarm clock app in Android Oreo

Several users of Nexus and Pixel phones that received the Android Oreo update are complaining that the alarm clock app has stopped working reliably since then. In some cases the alarm would not go off at all.

Complaints are pouring in to the Google Play Store, where users state that when the alarm goes off, the app will close itself immediately. Also on Reddit, users are complaining that the app doesn’t work properly on their Pixel phones.

An Android Police reader sent an email to the website, explaining that when he sets an alarm clock in less than an hour, it sometimes does. However, alarms set further into the future will not work.

Since Google has not yet responded to the issue, it is unknown what caused the issue and when it was resolved. Users running Android 8 on their phone may be better off with a different alarm clock app.
