Facebook is working on a new function that should provide insight into how much time users spend on the social networking site. The new functionality has not yet been released, but references have been found in the code for the Android app.

The unreleased feature is called Your Time on Facebook, and it’s hidden in the code of the Android application for Android, developer Jane Manchun Wong discovered. She shared her findings via a message on Twitter. In support of the finding, she shared some images of what the feature will look like.

It appears that Facebook wants to make it clear to users how much time they have spent on the social networking site in the past week. They can see how much time they have spent on Facebook per day, and the average time is also shown. In addition, users can set reminders if they have reached a preset time limit.

Because Facebook itself has not disclosed anything about the new feature, the necessary information is still missing. For example, it is not known when Your Time on Facebook will be released or whether it will be available for all operating systems, although the latter is in line with expectations.
