The US government has, possibly accidentally, taken a domain of a free DNS provider offline. As a result, 84,000 sites incorrectly showed a report in which child pornography was discussed.

That reports TorrentFreak. The domain name ‘mooo.com’ was classified by the American judiciary as a website with child pornography; it was possible to find such material on one subdomain. However, as a result, the entire domain was taken offline, blocking 84,000 websites with a free ‘mooo.com’ subdomain.

The websites showed a notification saying that the domain name had been seized. In addition, it was reported that child pornography is punishable. The combination of these two reports suggested that child pornography had been found on the domain concerned. In a reaction the free DNS provider, FreeDNS, states that it would never allow such content.
