US forbids US companies to supply ZTE any longer
US companies are not allowed to supply ZTE components for seven years, according to the US government. At the same time, the British NCSC warns of security risks when using equipment from the Chinese manufacturer.
Also on Monday, the British National Cyber Security Center, part of intelligence service GCHQ, warns that national security is at stake as network equipment of ZTE on widely used in the country. That writes the Financial Times . The NCSC points out that the Chinese government is gaining more and more influence from companies and that the telecom industry of the United Kingdom already uses a lot of Huawei equipment. In addition, the use of ZTE equipment on a large scale would have a long-lasting negative effect on the safety of the UK. American intelligence services previously warned about the use of ZTE and Huawei equipment because of the safety risks.
