Universal Pictures is making new Doom movie
The classic shooter Doom received a reboot in 2016 and the title is also given a new chance on the silver screen. This is evident from tweets from actress and singer Nina Bergman, in which she says that she is in a new Doom film from Universal Pictures.
Bergman says that she has signed all the paperwork for the new Doom movie with Universal Pictures. In another tweet, she also says that the film a much better script than the previous Doom movie. Universal Pictures has not yet announced anything about the Doom film that Bergman is talking about, but a spokesperson confirms to Variety the existence of the production.
The new Doom film is being made by Universal 1440 Entertainment, a studio that focuses on films that will not be released in theaters. So it seems that the new Doom film will only be released on discs and may appear on streaming platforms such as Netflix.
For the creators and fans of the game, it is hoped that the new Doom film will do better than the 2005 version. It was not received positively: on IMDB the film scores a 5.2, on Metacritic no more than 34 points and on Rotten Tomatoes, the score came in at 19 percent. In addition, the $56 million in revenue that was achieved was not enough to support the $60 million budget.
